You trash Floyd in a thread devoted to a classic display of chin. Mostly praising Baldomirs chin and Forrests ability. So quite naturally I take you for a *******. However, I could be mistaken and you're just the general Floyd hater who thinks about Floyd 24/7. "Haters are just confused admirers" - Floyd Mayweather.
I was poking fun at you, Michigan. You seem to have an inferiority complex when it comes to black fighters. Why do Floyd Mayweather supporters quote their hero on a daily basis?
Floyd Mayweather is the confucious of our time. "Grab a ******* by the tail, you have one angry *******" - Floyd Mayweather
When Larry said "See, when one man outboxes another man, it doesn't have to be boring..." Tell me that wasn't Merchant's hit against Floyd?
I tune Larry Merchant out, im just waiting for him to explode into a racist rant one of these days and have a heart attack in the middle of it "Goddamn blacks always running around on my lawn, Floyd Mayweather cant fight for....." Lampley: "Larry no!"
Yeah I remember that fight Baldo took some bombs from Forrest and stood up to them. The guy had a great chin for sure.
Anyone who doesn't thinks Baldo didn't have a cast iron chin before he started cashing his pension needs to follow another sport. Credit to Alvarez for the KO none the less but that was an old old man. Baldomir get's a little underrated at the end of the day he walked down Judah, Clottey and Gatti and hammered them inside to win the lineal title at WW.
Really was too bad about Forrest's shoulder and the subsequent effect it had on his jab, he was a very good stand up boxer. Certainly not a top tier welterweight talent as such in the way that de la Hoya, Trinidad, Whitaker, Quartey, Lopez etc managed to be. Really struggled I think when he was forced back and his poor lateral movement was a testement to that. That being said, had he remained injury free with his shoulder I think he very well could have ruled 147 all the way to the point where his weight demanded him to move up. He did look very poor versus a part-time Quartey and he let himself down versus Mora. That being said I am a fan of Forrest. A fighter till the very end. Can't really comment on Baldomir. Not a fan exactly but I do respect his heart and chin, and he certainly is one of the most successful boxers of recent years based on just how limited he was and what he actually achieved.
