The first of the fourth kings of Super Flyweight, the Mexican Carlos "El Principe" Cuadras who announces his retirement today after his defeat against Tomoya Tsuboi in Super Flyweight : I'm very sad Cuadras 37 years old is a boxer that I liked very much his best victories in his career was Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, Pedro Guevara, Luis Concepcion, Koki Eto and Ricardo Nunez "El Matematico" is a pretty nice victory too in his record. It's heartbreaking to see him end up in tears. This content is protected

Always been a big fan of his, I thought he was robbed of a career defining win over Chocolatito. Granted, I also think he took the easy way out against Sor Rungvisai. His style was insanely fun to watch ad he was willing to fight anyone. One of my favorite fighters of the last 15 years. But yeah, after last night's beatdown, against a super talent. It's still a good thing he called it a day. His timing, explosivity and speed as abandoned him.
Yes he declined very much and we see that against Luis Guzman Torres but what a heart he have ! His second fights against Estrada is a classical at 115 lbs.
I think at his prime he was better than Phumelela Cafu, Jerwin Ancajas, Omar Narvaez, Andrew Moloney and Kosei Tanaka at 115 lbs. What do you think ?
Very good fighter and was always exciting. Out of the four (others being Roman, Estrada and SRR), he was the most charming of the bunch. Happy retirement, Carlos.
You talking about one charming mother ****in guy. He's gotta be 10 times more charming then that Devin Haney that just fought the other night.
He was a good fighter, his fights with Choco and Estrada were good fights, i thought he might have edged choco in their fight. I hope he has a great retirement from the sport.
A very talented fighter who always delivered a show for the fans; I will miss him on the circuit, but given his decline now is the right time to call it a day. I know he has had struggles with addiction in the past, and we have seen with other fighters that retirement can act as a catalyst to bring these issues back to a head. I just hope he is in a good headspace and has the right people around him, so that he can find meaning in the next phase of his life and that he doesn't revert to past struggles.
