After saturday night's impressive but losing effort it's clear that the end is here for the former IBF SFW champion,Carlos ''El Famoso'' Hernandez.
    Some of his most notable fights: Pumar W TKO10,Vargas W MD10,G.Hernandez L UD12,Mayweather L UD12,Santos W TD8,Forbes W TD10,Morales L UD12,etc.
    Opinions on the guy?

It's the same deal with both Carlos & Jesus in fairness, just 2 tough mother ****ers with a lot of heart.

Really?I always thought his inside/brawler skills were very good.Better than a Hatton or a Baldomir to say.

At his best, Jesus Chavez was the type of guy who would break your heart if you weren't elite, and would be able to hang with elites reasonably well when he fought them. (He had moments against both Mayweather and Morales).

Hernandez wasn't quite as good, but made the most of what he had to fashion a pretty nice career for himself, all things considered.

Damn......I'm watching the Lightweight Lightning post presser and Famoso is speaking......very emotional, almost crying,he addmits he ain't ''the most skilled or the most sweetest like Mayweather but that he always brings it,heart, passion and all''.Sounds like a retirement speech altough he didn't announce it.

    One quick aside...

A lot of people seem to think that Mayweather's reign at 130lbs was kind of weak in terms of opposition. But Jesus Chavez and Famaso Hernandez were legitimate, legitimate fighters who would certainly have been contenders in just about any era of the 130lbs, and if you subbed them in the post-Arguello era jr lightweight era (Chacon, Limon, Boza, Navarette), I think that they might acquit themselves pretty well. Warriors of the same ilk, that's for certain.

Carlos is very limited...At 130 he was an OK contender...at 135 he juss don't have the size for all that!

He has represented El Salvador very well. What he lacked in skill he made up for with his guts. He epitomizes the people he fights for. Humble, lacking, but hard ****ing workers. The only champion we've had and he's a hero! Que viva El Salvador y Carlos Hernandez!

Indeed, you guys can be proud of him.
Too bad he''ll have to retire, would have been interesting to see him and Jesse James Leija working more together.
