I agree. He's pressing the fight and is more accurate than Sanchez so he's off to a good start

He just can't afford to pull a Lee Selby against Joel Brunker earlier today and wait so long to make his move or the chance might slip through his fingers.

Despite having a higher KO rate, I have less faith in Alvarado being able to suddenly crank it up and put the kibosh whenever he feels like it than in Selby.

His temperament is to stay steady. But if he has rounds like the 4th he can get the ko. He's just gotta keep his combinations going and connect consistently

    Round 4

Alvarado is staying in a classic boxing stance, right glove stuck out from below his chin, arm folded at his side, left glove low but coc-ked and ready to either jab or parry. Very tight and smooth movement by Alvarado, and accurate with his jabs and short rights stepping in. Sanchez is bouncing off his heels, moving around, exchanging jabs with Alvarado and losing the duel every time, and occasionally falling in with body flurries, missing and holding.

    10-9 Alvarado

    40-36 Alvarado

    WBC open scoring through four:

    38-38
    39-37 Alvarado
    38-38

    :huh

I guess he needs the KO to not get robbed...

I was thinking the same thing. Strategy wise the only thing that is working for Sanchez are those body shots

    Round 5

Nice jabs by Alvarado. Sanchez shuffles around him and knocks him into the corner with a right hand splitting the guard. Alvarado is piercing the chest and face of Sanchez with his sharp jab. Alvarado is working long straight body shots while turning Sanchez in the middle of the ring.

    10-9 Alvarado

    50-45 Alvarado

    Round 6

Alvarado is tripling his jab, easily finding the moving head of Sanchez on the outside. Long left hooks on the body whipped in by Sanchez while teetering on his left leg. Sanchez moves in, taking a few jabs off the top of the skull, and actually sits down and digs in with a left hook, more torque on this one. Alvarado takes it and jabs Sanchez out. Head jabs and right feints by Alvarado, positioning Sanchez nearly into a corner.

    10-9 Alvarado

    60-54 Alvarado

    Round 7

Alvarado is slipping jabs, turning his cheek and pulling his upper body back, timing all of Sanchez's movements well. Counter left jabs by Alvarado. Overhand right by Sanchez, missing the head and slapping down on Alvarado's shoulder. Alvarado ducks a left hook and takes a right hand across the lower back.

    10-9 Alvarado

    70-63 Alvarado

Alvarado looked less sharp in the round. A combination of the pace and the body shots that he's letting Sanchez get away with

Barrie Jones gave Sanchez the 6th & 7th.

They were better for him, but that is pretty charitable. He still got his face jabbed off and barely landed in both.
