He beat Corro in 1979 and won the WORLD middleweight title and he drew with Hagler in 1979 in a title defense of that WORLD middleweight title.

There's nothing to suggest the 1979 version of Antuofermo wouldn't have success against Monzon.

On the other side, there's nothing Monzon did in 1972 that stood out. He beat two guys who Vito would also beat. Went 12 with Bouttier.

I thought you said you were in the second row for Minter-Antuofermo II. But now you say Minter's best win was over Kevin Finnegan? (rolls eyes) He dominated Vito in the return with the World title on the line.

It was one of the biggest wins in British boxing history to that point.

You were in the press row like I WAS in the press row.

    I'm done talking to you.

Tell you what Im willing to bet you $ 1000 I was , money to be held by a mutually agreed poster.
For that I'll go up in my loft and find the program. Put up or shut your ignorant mouth!
    What's it to be?

The program? (LOL) I could buy a program for that fight today for one-tenth that amount.

If you sat TWO ROWS from the ring, for one of the biggest, most dominant wins in British boxing history (IN PERSON), and you blow that off and say Minter-Finnegan was a bigger win, you're a straight up liar.

I'm done with this discussion with you. You're just blowing smoke.

I consider Minter's wins over Finnegan better than his win over a face first cut prone brawler.
Here''s something else for you to shove into your ignorant gob .I was behind Antuofermo for the Minter v Hagler fight.Vito was doing commentary with Cossell [clad in a bright yellow blazer ,]when the riot started and he ended up whacking a fan. You've been exposed here as an ignorant fool who has no logical argument to offer, one who ignores the timelines of fighters wins to propagate a fan boy agenda that is blatantly obvious a mile away Crawl back in your hole ,you sad nonentity!

Yes. Howard Cosell wore the ABC blazer for every live boxing broadcast he did for the network for 20 years. Excellent insight. (That's sarcasm)

All I said was Antuofermo in 1979 could go the distance with Monzon, and how people scored it depended on which style they preferred.

All you've done is run down fighters and try to make yourself out like you were sitting a few feet from every fight in history, because you have a "PROGRAM."

None of this is about you.

    **** off, clown.

Back your play? You're willing to bet you have a boxing program? Give me a couple days, I'll have the same program signed by Minter and Magri. That's available, too.

Once I get it, can I pretend I was in the first row and I went out drinking with both afterward, since I have a program and knew what color Howard Cosell's jacket was?

This thread isn't about your fragile ego.

Monzon vs. 1979 Antuofermo is a distance fight.

A prime Marvin Hagler and a prime Hugo Corro couldn't stop OR DEFEAT Vito that year. Monzon wouldn't stop him, either.

    I just posted it. (LOL)

People were trading boxing tapes in magazines in 1981. I was trading boxing VHS tapes with people in the UK who had NTSC/PAL converters in the early 90s (30 years ago).

Were you even born then? (LOL)

    Christ.

That's all. Nobody cares if you were there or not. Antuofermo in 1979 could go 15 with the best middles in the world, and they couldn't even beat him.

That's what the thread is about. 1972 Monzon vs. 1979 Antuofermo.

    It's not about you.

Yes but he stopped Salinas about 6 weeks later and had already stopped him previously; thus, going 2-0-1 (2KOs). Likewise, with Aguilar - Monzon, in all, went 2-0-1 (1KO).

Not the best measure of Antuofermo's chances, in my opinion.

One might say Antuofermo had as much chance as any of Monzon's opponents; the problem being that the vast majority of these lost.

Briscoe wasn't in his prime when he lost to the guys in question. So how is that especially relevant?

If Vito can go 15 with Hagler,,he can go 15 with Monzon,,, I don't think he can win because I see Carlos landing the harder shots

Terrible matchup Monzon completely outclasses Vito and wins every minute of every round.
