That's actually a pretty damn good choice.
Although outside of hardcore boxing fans, i doubt many people know about Monzon.

It was his second wife, Alicia Muniz, that he murdered actually. He was giving her a beating (like he routinely did). Scared and bloody, she came fleeing out on a balcony. Carlos grabbed her by the neck, picked her up and threw her off to her death. He followed her in the fall, but only injured a shoulder.

 

A better boxer than a human being, definitely.

 

Monzon was convicted on mainly medical and semi-circumstantial evidence.

For example, Munoz did not try to break her fall with her hands, it appeared that she had bruises on her neck (like she had been held or strangled), and an autopsy suggested she had been unconscious before she hit the ground.

There were two witnesses who offered completely contradicting accounts of what happened, and there was reason to doubt both as witnesses.

Monzon himself tried to claim that they were sitting on the balcony together playing around, when she accidentally fall and he fell while trying to catch her.

There was speculation that he and Munoz had thrown a wild coke party and were doped out of their minds, and who knows what the hell could've come from that.

In the end, they were alone in that apartment, and what actually transpired was known only to them and the four walls.

 

I've always had a fascination for Monzon as well. I'm sure that anyone at his weight..ANYONE he would defeat, and though I'm disgusted with his personal life and brutality he's my favorite fighter.

 

I feel the same way about Tyson in his prime he was awsome but unlike other fans I consider him an ******* in real life, although Monzon and some others were worse and Tyson did **** Washington even if others are too stupid to see that.

 

Apparently he had a history of beating his wives and girlfriends.

Monzon threw his wife, I believe her name was Susanna Giminez, off of their apartment balcony. The apartment was in some high rise, so the fall killed her.

Monzon was a maniac.
