Well, the only think 'not right' is obviously your interpretation of it. He threw himself off to make it look like they both fell. He jumped, she didn't. :good

Gimenez was the actress he was seeing in the 70s, it wasn't her, it was Alicia Muniz.

Monzon was a horrible human being. In the ring he was great, but I think he is somewhat over rated. Some people think Monzon was a top 3 atg at middle. I'm not one of them. Monzon wasn't fast, he did not have big time power, and he made a good portion of his legacy on older welter's who moved up to middle. If you watch the flims, and pay attention to the age and size of the best fighters he beat, much of what I wrote above is true.

Since Monzon was pretty much a skilled grinder with great stamina and durability, the question if he could out speed / out box another ATG who was faster than he was is open for debate.

Monzon is 1-3 MW for me

And as I researched, Monzon wasnt such a "bad man" and a "beast" in private life. He definetly had two faces. Heard that he was very generous for his friends and family. He bought a house for his first wife parents, because he remembered that they bought a bed when he and his wife married and were poor. That bed was the only furniture at Monzons apartment. Carlos almost withdrew from Tom Bogs fight in Denmark cause his son was sick in Argentina and wanted to come back.

    nice article:

Name ANY middleweight king from the past up to today, and I say he beats any of them. He was too subtle in his abilities for everyone to see that.

    :huh

He was a bad man who couldn't contol his volcanic temper. Caring about your son doesn't excuse treating most people outside your family like **** and murdering your girlfriend.

Monzon kills another human and is forgivin immidietly, McClellan might have killed some dogs in his life and every thread talking about his skills in the ring turns into a PETA bash thread.

for the record both are favorite fighters of mine.

Top ten perhaps, But I dont think I put Monzon in the top 3.

Robinson, Greb, Walker, Ketchel, Ryan, Hagler, Hopkins, Dempsey, Fitz and Tiger and others have a arugement for the 3rd spot.

My top 3 are Greb, Robinson, and Walker, With perhaps Fitz being 4th. Maybe.

I really don't think anybody has forgiven Monzon for murdering his wife. He was dealt with via Argentine Law, and punished accordingly. Neither he or McClellan should have their out of the ring misdeeds confused with their in the ring accomplishments. I felt this way about baseball when all that foolishness went down about Pete Rose and his gambling.
