Hagler because he has the better weapons and better suited for intense warfare. I believe Monzon would have problems solving Hagler's multi faceted defense Hagler would bring those hands down landing rib cracking shots and lay him out with his invincible right hook
21-8 for Hagler with an incredible 4 people picking him by stoppage. My oh my what a shift from reasonably recent and less recent years.
People haven't seen Monzon fights is all I can say. Picking Hagler isn't unreasonable but by such a landslide indicates a little fanboyism going on.
You mean his early losses? Hagler had those too. But nobody is comparing early Hagler to the prime version and saying they are equivalent. If you are referreing to the many draws, Argentine boxing judges tended to go with those if there wasn't a decisive winner.
I am not trying to change your opinion. But something to look at with Carlos for your viewing pleasure is he throws 1,2,3 almost exclusively as his main offence. Now where the enjoyment comes from is the purpose he accomplishes with each punch at times the hook steers for balance other times the Jab is meant to miss ect. It made me appreciate him more thinking like that what he does with such "Simple" movement is amazing.
Steady fella, overrated ? surely in anyone's top 10 MW he would be somewhere from 2/5 no ? in realty only 3/4 of the past champs would stand a chance of beating him, the obvious being SRR, Greb, and Marvin, and some punters would have him over them ( not me ) so all in all, he will remain one of the greatest MW of all time, if that's overrating him, then I am guilty as charged. keep well.
Hi Garrus. Those were the two bouts that came to mind. Plus Marvin took his foot off the gas a bit in his first go with Vito Antuofermo.
