Escopeta against the Human Windmill in a 15 round fight. Honestly, if Frazier-Foreman, Hearns-Duran, and Tiger-Foster ring a bell, then you can see why IMO Greb gets destroyed here in a bad matchup. Monzon's just too big, and it will be hard for Greb to get under than jab. From what I've percieved about his style from reading accounts and watching sparring and shadowboxing footage, Greb was essentially a come-forward fighter. I say Carlos stops Greb in 6 rounds. What do you think?
Like you say, I think Carlos is just to big and also aggressive for Greb to handle. Don't think it would be the most thrilling fight, but would end in a late stoppage, eleventh or twelth round maybe.
Idont know here , Frazier as a hw was not in the same league as Greb as a mw (almost , but not quite there) , Duran was a natural lw fighting maybe the best lmw ever , and tiger was a natural mw fighting one of the best and powerful lhws ever. This would be a natural mw , who was apparently a force of nature against another guy who can claim to be the best mw ever. Its just too hard , from what has been read , im taking Greb here
Actually , my argument still stands to make it a close fight , but im taking KingCarlos by decision ! Sorry about that there
I just changed it before i saw your post , i think if any mw could get inside though , it would be Greb , dont you think? Carlos had plenty of stamina , and was methodical , but i think Greb would have the edge in workrate , maybe that would be his only chance. I dont think he could rough Carlos up , impossible , he was a psyko!! But maybe he could outwork him? I still think Monzon though. Matchups with the elite MWs meaning Hagler, 160 Robinson and Hopkins , Greb and B-Hop are the hardest imo , even Ketchel aswell
Frazier had a great workrate too, don't you think? Didn't matter when Foreman knocked him on his chin. What do you think is gonna happen when Monzon unloads on Greb. The right hands will undoubtedly slow Harry down and Monzon would then take control of the fight.:good
Good point in stylistic terms , but imo Frazier p4p was not as good as Greb , close to , but not at his level. But then again Monzon was far better than Foreman. Great fighters are able to overcome physical disadvantages though. And Greb was great of the highest order, he was rapid aswell Greb , he really would have to be the human windmill to do this though
I think Greb would win verry convincingly. Everybody who tried to fight Greb on the outside got destroyed, literaly from heavyweight downward. The people who beat Greb did it by backing him up and not giving him room. Even slick boxers like Gene Tunney and Tommy Loughran adopted this tactic because nothing else worked.
Absolutely nothing. Greb had one of the greatest pound for pound chins in history. After the number of heavyweights he fought Monzons punches would be light releif.
