Carlos Monzon vs. Joe Calzaghe @ 168.

Man this is a tough oneatsch a fight that would go the distance, maybe a slight edge to Cali because he's the bigger man and would have a higher workrate..

 

I am not only decided, I would even put big deal of money on Calzaghe.

 

Yeh it does depend on the weight, but even at SMW I might favor Monzon. Also especially if its 15 rounds, where I might even give Monzon the nod for a late round ko in the 13-15 range

Yes your right in Monzons day they went 15, and those last 3 rounds, more times than not made a big difference, Cali has excellent stamina and i can see him going 15 rounds even now at 36, with no problems, dude has a strong Heart and amazing wind, i wouldn't bet on this one if someone GAVE me the money..

 

I'd love to see it, and I'd hate trying to pick a winner in it. I'm leaning towards a slim UD for Calzaghe because of the natural size advantage and that he's proven at the weight, but Monzon's a tough, gritty sonuvabitch who I really have a hard time picking agaisnt.

Ah, fudge it. I'll go with a draw for now.

If its 15 rounds I think I favor Monzon.....at 12 it might be a 'pickem match

 

I was expecting you to take Pacquiao to KO both at the same time. Since when have you even been aware of the existence of these two?

 

This would become a slugfest and it wouldn't favor Calzaghe as Monzon would pick the most damaging shots while Joe will be throwing alot of his wide slapp-ish shots.

Monzon TKO late in the fight. His dad will throw in the towel.

Carlos Monzon by brutal second round knockout. Monzon is just a beast, how could i choose anything else... It would be utterly foolish of me. I don't care what anyone on here says about footage either, its irrelevant. Monzon by CRUSHING KO. His skills are sooooo subtle, Calzaghe would be KO'd before he even knew Monzon had made a move.... He just epitomised subtlety... Like some sort of modern day ninja. I would expect him to leap out of the shadows and ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK. Did i tell you about his superior timing? Well if not, the man has the best timing in the entire universe. Word on the street is that Monzon's timing is so great, someone tried to shoot him but he caught the bullet between his teeth and just spat it back out at his adversary... Does Joe Cazlaghe punch faster then A BULLET.. NO. Monzon KO 2. Want to know why it takes 2 rounds. Because Monzon has SUCH a granite chin, sometimes he likes to just let opponents tee off on him at will for the first round to give the crowd their moneys worth. Last off all, PUNCHING POWER. Don't be suprised to see Joe Calzaghe take out several massive life insurance policies before the bout. Because as soon as Monzon lands, Joe's head will be RIPPED OFF HIS SHOULDERS RAAAAAA. FATALITYYYYYYYYYYYY.... Geez they don't make fighters the way they used to. Maybe if more modern guy could emulate his healthy lifestyle choices they could become even 1% of this great man. If only i were a woman, i would have his babies, provided his sperm didn't burn through my womb and destroy me.

Why even focus on such matches, its is disrepectful to the omnipotent one... Lets be more realistic. Prime Lennox Lewis vs Monzon. Lewis on paper would appear to have the advantage. Reach, weight, power, speed... But as soon as the fight begins............. HADDDDOOOOKEEEENNN. Monzon leaps up with a twisting uppercut, launching Lennox Lewis somewhere into the depths of the universe, in the darkest balck holes, where he is never to be seen again. As the crowd stares back vacantly, Monzon walks over to the referee, rips his head from his shoulders and drinks his blood.... AHHHHH, a cool refreshing drink. FATALITY ARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHH. Next up, Goro. Some experts would have Goro as a live under dog, due to having 2 more arms then Monzon, but boxing insiders are less then enthused with the bout.... They dare not partake in blasphamy and consider anything other then a Monzon knockout... Ludicrous.
