I read an article in the newspaper this morning about some guy kicking a 7 month toddler in the head and now the baby is being treated for brain damage, but somehow reading this post made me more angrier than reading the article.
It's a guess how a guy will perform when moving up in weight. Monzon was fighting at MW during the same-day weigh-ins, but I'll say he does fine with the jump in weight. He was tall, rangy, and had a big frame for a MW. I'll say he's effective at the higher weights and wins a decision. Monzon may have been ugly in the ring, but he simply knew how to fight. He was great at judging and controlling the distance and tempo.
LOL. Ok genius instead of insulting my post why don't you give your opinion. Monzon was a great fighter but his two biggest wins came against welterweights (Griffith and Napoles). Hell he even struggled a bit against Griffith in the second fight. Monzon had a great jab, timing, and power but he was NOT fast. I think Calzaghe would be both too big and too fast for him to deal with. Calzaghe is more skilled than you apprently want to give him credit for. And hey we are all entitled to our opinions, no reason to get upset my friend.
Your post makes me confused, Calzaghe would school Monzon and it wouldn't be competitive, the only thing Monzon would have on Calzaghe is power, but with him moving up in weight that is gone, Calzaghe is faster, throws more punches, and Monzon is slow and predictable with no feints, tailor made for Calzaghe, Monzon never fought a southpaw
