Some questions about those two characters: #1: Who of them two got the better career-resume / quality of competition? #2: Who of them two got the more interesting / crowd-pleasing / effective fighting-style? #3: Who of them two got more charisma inside/outside the ring? Thx, cheers
Sanchez - Monzon doesnt have prime opponents the standard of Nelson and Gomez Sanchez I dont know outside the ring
Monzon clearly, he had a longer career and is arguably the most dominant champion ever. Crowd pleasing would be Sanchez But Monzon's style despite looking awkward is brutally effective and once you study it it is also very interesting. Sanchez is more loveable, Monzon is more shadier and darker but still fascinates people.
Yes: 1. Monzon 2. Sanchez 3. Monzon The "resume" or record of Monzon is superior to Sanchez's..Sal's style, I'll admit was prettier to watch than Monzon's, but Monzon was the superior fighter...a cold style is no downside to greatness...and truthfully, neither man was awash in "charisma"...Monzon was an unemotional, inexpressive, cold and arrogant sort of guy, and Sanchez's personality or "personna" still remains a mystery to me...neither man had "warm and fuzzy" personalities that the press & public could latch on to...like Roberto Duran for instance. Both Monzon and Sanchez had the mystique of having never met defeat while a champion..don't know if Sanchez would have been as successful a champion like Monzon and would have walked away at the top, but I suspect he would have...they were two stellar elite greats, IMO.
