I don't think Canelo beats Jesus, either.

Jesus is overrated as a boxer. I think Alvarez crucifies him.

Nah - He takes a beating, gets dropped, but rises from the canvas on three to decimate Canelo.

I just think Jesus had the wrong tactics by messing up his shoulder roll by turning the cheek too many times. It really limited his counter punching.

Also we all know about the match against The Samaritan. Completely let him off the hook.

Prime Carlos Monzon stops Canelo Saul Alvarez in round 13. Carlos was also a very underrated counter puncher, he had a shotgun like left jab and a crushing right cross which scored 61 kayos in his 89 wins , only 3 losses, 9 draws. Monzon had not lost in his last 82 fights, dating back to Oct 9 1964. Carlos had an iron chin as the only two fighters to deck him were Jorge Fernandez in 1966 and Rodrigo Valdes in 1977, Monzon's last bout, won by Carlos. He would use his range on Saul, keeping him at a distance with his left jab, landing just about everything on target, as he was an accurate fighter. Alvarez would fight backing up, always respecting the right hand of Carlos who likes to counter to the head and body of his adversaries. Monzon's aggressiveness and the fact that Alvarez counters would have been quickly reduced. With his eyes swollen shut, Saul swallows a right hand counter, the same punch that decked Rodrigo Valdes in their first fight in 1976. Alvarez hits the canvas, rises on very shaky legs, Monzon's mean streak shows, as he rains punches on Canelo's head, the referee pulls Carlos off of Saul, who sags to the canvas.

I think Canelo would pick Briscoe apart.

I think also that Alvarez could defeat Bad Bennie Briscoe.

George, Carlos Monzon usually fought either at Luna Park, Monte Carlo, Monaco or Paris, France, no hometown advantage for Canelo. Monzon, after the Tony Licata fight would not fight in the United States again, he got hit big time by the taxes for that fight, besides the champion's choice where to fight, we are talking about the 1970's, not today. But I do get it by Canelo's fights today.

It all about opinions, guys - and I do appreciate yours. I too believe that Canelo could beat Briscoe. However, I also think a prime Briscoe would present a type of stylistic challenge not seen by Canelo at middleweight, thus far, and that he'd be worth a bet.

Mendoza, as usual, you're totally clueless about Monzon

My God, what an stupid post...Valdez would kill Canelo..the fight wouldn't go past 8. Neither you or Mendoza know what you're talking about.
