Carlos Morales vs. Dardan Zenunaj RBR

Round 2

Zenunaj is still applying heavy pressure, awkwardly dipping his lead shoulder in next to Morales' far hip to plunge inside past the stay-away jab. Zenunaj is getting slapped upside the head with light hooks as he comes in, Morales shuffling backward and whipping both arms out wide around the sides of the guard, clipping Zenunaj on either ear. Not enough effective offense put together by the Albanian. Morales ties up to smother a Zenunaj infighting attempt and they spill into the ropes. Flush 1-2 in the pocket by Morales as they turn in-step together. Zenunaj lands a clubbing shot and Morales is hurt after the warning ten-second clap. Zenunaj unloads a few more but they don't get a clean piece of Morales, who emerges from the fray with his tongue stuck out cockily. I suspect that was more luck than defensive prowess, though.

Awwwwww, buddies. See, we can always put aside our political differences and enjoy being smarter than the average armchair boxing scoring bear. Most people would've (incorrectly) given the second to Zenunaj, but not us 3.

 

Round 3

Zenunaj is being turned on the inside and kneaded with double jabs by Morales, who vanishes from range ASAP once he scores. Morales starting to box very nicely, leaving the Albanian looking a little befuddled. Zenunaj charging in haplessly, taking jab after jab on the forehead, gluing his gloves to his chin but failing to realize that isn't where Morales is even aiming.

Round 4

Zenunaj is plowing into Morales, shoulder-first, tilted inside at a leftward slant with his upper body twisted above the waist to be squared up. Morales is tossing light straight flurries into Zenunaj's face while cutting donuts around him. NASTY HEAD CLASH. Might be a fight ender. Morales cut horrifically. Might go to a technical decision here, or maybe a No Contest depending on local commission rules on how many rounds must be completed... Nope, time in. Point taken from Zenunaj? Unclear. Don't think so. Zenunaj following, throwing body shots but unable to reach as Morales skips away. Morales wisely not engaging, cleaving to the ropes. Zenunaj charging at him and windmilling, landing first rabbit punches but then legitimate clubbing blows as Morales is unable to see his way clear.

Rotten bit of luck for Morales to a) suffer the cut and b) not have it halted immediately. The longer this goes the more points Zenunaj can rack up, while he is himself operating half-blind.

 

Round 5

Zenunaj is clipping Morales with overhand rights on the way in, after missing several throwaway jabs by design. Uppercut inside by Zenunaj. Morales pounds the figurative pavement. Zenunaj is coming on strong, targeting Morales' cut and roughing him up where he can. Morales in a shell, blood dripping in his eye.
