So today while training at KingsWay, Carlos Negron walks in for a day of training! Damn is this guy tall; I don't see where he keeps the weight lol.. He was looking real sharp on the mitts as well, hopefully he'll be shown on the under-card this Saturday.:rofl My brother took a picture with him lol.. I was running on the treadmill in the back though.. not sure if I came out.
I just saw him on you tube in amatuers he has some fast hands and is a giant for a cruiserweight, i heard he can even make Light Heavy and eventually wants to fight at heavy. He also won on tonights undercard.
i'll wait and see on this one,, he seems too tall and skinny for boxing and looks like he's gonna get koed everytime he fights... he should stay at 175 as long as his body allows him to... because there his height and reach advantage will serve him well.... plus those guys dont hit as hard as the ones higher up... :hat
So what is this guy doing in regards to his weight? I see that he often weighs at 180-185. Assuming he isn't draining himself for non-title fights, which I doubt, then he could probably cut another 5lbs in water weight and be making 175, no? Ridiculous at 6'6", excellent reach aswell. He has great physical tools, just better hope he has the skills to back it up. I've never actually seem him fight either, can anyone describe his style to me and how well they think he'll do?
I know but I was going on what he said about him being to tall and skinny for boxing. On that same logic PW would be too tall and skinny for WW or Valuev (although he sucks) too tall for HW.
Look great for fight #5!! Is interesting that the two times he came in the lightest he went the distance.
OK you can be tall and a good boxer height doesn't matter, hearns was skinny as hell at welter and there are many examples of it... most boxers drain themselves anyways to fight at the lowest weight possible and gain some advantage.. but negron is a little too tall and fighting at higher weights were boxing ability is less but punching power and strength is big... like i said for now he hasn't shown me he has the power and strength to keep stronger more powerful guys off him.. so I'll wait and see... he definitely doesn't has the power for HW so he better stay at light heavy for awhile.. and once he raises the level of his opponents we'll see if he has the chin for those weights... :hat
