This is right. I had him at 6, nothing wrong with five, and at an absolute push you could place him at number 4.
I've never actually watched Carlos Ortiz, I heard he was quite a boring fighter to watch, which turned me off watching his fights.
I would say that’s fair. You could make a case anywhere from 4-7 probably. Closer to 4 in my book. Great fighter and one of the nicest champs you could ever meet.
He has a case for Top 5 Greatest LWs along with Benny Leonard, Tony Canzoneri, Roberto Duran, Joe Gans. Terrific fighter and arguably the greatest PR fighter IMO.
I'd say give him a watch and decide for yourself. He's not the most exciting fighter but he's definitely a complete fighter, very intelligent ring technician. I think he's the kind of fighter that will grow on people the more they watch him. There's lots to appreciate about him. This content is protected
Flo, when I saw @Dynamicpuncher 's query, I thought to myself, 'I wonder if D has seen Ortiz' bout with Torres?' So I'm glad you posted this. A really good display of breaking a fighter down.
It is a stack division, but I think the top ten is good. About 7 or 8. You are dealing with the likes of Benny Leonard, Jack McAuliff, Duran, Ike Williams, Joe Gans, Canzoneri, Barney Ross, and others.
If you’re a consensus top 10 lightweight, you’re already an incredible boxer. Cracking the top 10 in arguably the deepest division in boxing history is a major achievement.
