Why do you keep dragging modern fighters from the general forum into our sacred hall?

this is what it really amounts to. First let their careers play out...but bringing it here means the modern fighter will be immediately dismissed by 80% of the forum right out of the gate. And the other 20% of modernists or trolls (not saying they are one and the same) will go the other route.

people are picking outcomes when they admit to not even knowing who one of the fighters is. So the chance that 1 or 2 realistic unbiased evaluations comes out you would have to sort through all kinds of garbage just to find it.

a top 5 ATG @ LW or Crawford? Or do you ask this about 140 where Crawford might stand a better chance IMO? Although I still would not pick him...but I am a big Carlos fan

 

I mean, Crawford isn't one of the trash modern fighters though.

Not gonna lie, this would be a close one at 140. Crawford is quite good, and bigger than Ortiz.

At 135, Ortiz completely outclasses him.

 

I quite agree. I am not a modernist or an older is better type. I think Crawford is quite good! I just don’t think it is realistic to see him get a fair shake here.

 

Nah, they just wouldn't know any of the names of the classic fighters, that's all.

 

I think Crawford is a bit better higher up at 140 and 147 even. He’d never make 135 in Ortiz’ day and 135 is where Ortiz is one of the all-time greats. Crawford is a great fighter too in my view but there’s not enough there or enough styles like Ortiz’ tackled to give me confidence he can go and beat Ortiz. It’s probably a close enough fight but Ortiz has to be favored.
