This would be a great battle of pretty evenly matched Welterweights. Would Cotto be able to outmanuever & outhustle "King Carlos"?

I don't think we have seen the best of Cotto yet.

At this stage I go with Palomino by decision.

Cotto is a two division Champion, Who has just defeated a still pretty darn good Sugar Shane Mosley. IMO Cotto's skills have pretty much peaked now or he is right on the verge of peaking. If he loses at this point it will not be blamed on his lack of experience. Up till now Cotto has had about seven or eight title fights. Which could put him in with a Carlos Palomino making his eight title defense, Roughly about to defend against Armando Muniz. I would say this would be a battle of both fighters in thier prime's.

cotto hasnt been at the limit yet i think. nobody would pressure him like palamino would. nobody ever put his head on cottos chest and banged the body...........cause non of his opponents had the style or the class of palomino.

the margarito fight will tell us alot. margo is similar to palomino in the sense that he relies on his strength, endurance and iron chin to impose himself on his opponents.
now if cotto can keep margo off enough to establish his vaunted skills, id pick him over palomino in a sec.

but something tells me that margo is gonna win this, so i´ll hold back my prediction.

I think you're looking at a repeat of Cotto-Margarito 1, only Palimino was a better technician than Margarito.

    Carlos TKO 11.

Palomino. Stoppage over 12 is possible. Over 15 is money in the bank.
