Duran hit him far more frequently than Cuevas would be able to be, and Duran could bang. It makes me think Palominos durability and defense are good enough to see him get through any sticky moments
True good point. This is a pickem match to me,every time im thinking Cuevas would have taken him, i can also just as easily see Palomino whethering the storm and getting Cuevas late. This is one of the few matches where i have a hard time picking a winner.
i think when it comes down to co champions that Cuevas was really the man at 147. To me he will always be the man. he fits the mold of other great 147 pounders like Napoles, Honeyghan, and Brown In a actual fight, Pipino would turn it into very a physical contest-that's his style and plays well to his strengths. Carlos will start falling apart under the pressure as he did with Duran. Once he starts making mistakes it will lead to bigger mistakes because Carlos doesnt like being rushed. At the instant he begins breathing with his mouth open, Pipino capitalizes and blasts him with a hard left and right, breaking his jab. I see Carlos quitting in his corner. Carlos might be better technically but Pipino is too damaging a puncher so Carlos wont survive the shootout
Yeh i agree with yer! This is a real toughie! Intence & brutal with so many of the obvious endings either way! Like you said i can see Carlos getting Cuevas Late just as i can see Cuevas smashing his way through Carlos in 8. Yeh it's pick-em mind-bender & without doubt one of the best unification fights at WW. I just gotta go with Cuevas here!! Terrifying power:bbbmaybe a bit like the 2nd half of Cotto/Margo for an ending.
Pipino would be behind on the cards until the ninth round, where he coldcocks Carlos with a beautiful left hook.
