Quintana is an awesome southpaw boxer. On this site, the guy doesn't get enough credit. He has a beautiful style as a sort of backfoot-counterpunching expert. Whereas some fighters just run, Quintana moves backwards while throwing punches. Not just his fight against Williams, but also Julio and even Cotto, Quintana showed his skills. He is still a top 10 WW and IMO could win against a lot of the higher level guys, including Williams again. I don't think he could beat Mosley or Cotto but I'd pick him against Judah and Clottey for sure.
Agreed.. Ive always liked QUintana and he doesn't get enough credit on this forum or anywhere else.. His boxing skills are supreme and i was in awe by the way he nuetralized an undefeated Julio and the way he schooled Williams was breathtaking.. Oh definitely, he would beat Judah down and i would favor him against Clottey too cuz after all, styles make fights.. But he seems to be missing something that's keeping him from the elite status, probably a chin but i hope for the best.. His style is beautiful to watch..It has sweet science written all over it..
The poster child for underrated. Williams/Cotto fans for some reason often dismiss him as one of the lesser trophies on their guys' walls; and the haters of those fighters shred him like he wasn't ****.
I definetly agree that he's underrated, but I think he'll be back. People seem to forget the first Williams fight because of the second, but a first round KO doesn't show any improvement on PW's part, a trilogy is needed.
Because he made Williams look like a ****in amateur with his mohak.:yep Just kidding,Quintana got himself injured but he is coming back. He is top 10.
He did give that guy in your avatar a boxing lesson and no one can take that away from him.. IT was masterclass.
what does his win have to do against pw have to do with anything since he lost to pw he fought once since pw beat him pw has fought 3 times... its hard to rate someone who is borderline inactive
he did get injurred... he was supposed to fight in key west against a decent opponent.... i forget who it was but i considered going.. its like a 2 hour drive from where i live... its still hard to rate him when he's fighting people we dont know much about
