Martinez was shorter and stronger... i knew if anyone would be ko'd it would be paul ... once you step in on that offense with power and punch when he punches.... MAGIC can happen!! and it did...

If you look at the tape and freeze the moment of the ko, it doesn't really look like short, tall, strong, slappy, accurate, sloppy or any of that **** really had much to do with it. It was just Williams standing there right in front of Martinez seeming to spread his arms as wide apart as possible begging for someone to knock him out. But i agree that if anyone was going to get knocked out in this fight it was gonna be Williams. Since he started to break through about 4 years ago, he really hasn't progressed at all. Still sloppy&slappy, still fighting tactically stupid.

I know the guy wants to be known as a warrior, but there's a difference between fighting hard and just fighting stupid, throwing all of your physical advantages away.

Its not a matter of him getting hit too much by smaller fighters. Everyone is smaller than him. Its a matter of him not fighting a tall smart fight and throwing too many punches. Great fighters improve over time. Like it was stated earlier, he has not improved. The real problem is he gets hit too much period. When throwing a lot of punches, the catch is that you yourself are also in punching range.
