It wouldn't be fair to match the 2017 losing-to-Bellew version of David Haye with someone like Takam, but would anyone give the Haye of, say, 2010, a chance against a well-trained Carlos Takam ?

Takams a mediocre heavy, Hayes more than capable of beating him 2010. Takam I think is getting overated on here by some. AJ will walk through him if Parker beat him !

Yes, he would he would win in the fashion he beat Chisora.

If a 2010 or 2012 version of David Haye was around now i think he would be 1 or 2 in the division.

Prime Haye doesn't just have a chance, he is the big favourite as well.
Takam's a decent fighter but let's be honest here he is far from special. 2010 Haye would still stop him, perhaps round 7.

Haye sparred him for the Chisora fight...given his prediction for the Joshua fight and his comments on the spar I’d say he handles Takam comfortably.

Haye would have wrecked Takam. Takam's come forward style is ideal for Haye's precision counter punching. Haye KO's him in about 5, very similar fight to Chisora, as someone mentioned Haye used Takam for prepping for Dereck.
