Zarate vs Zamora the miniature version of Hagler vs Hearns.

Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. Was also 87-0 with something like 76 KO's before his first loss.

The Z-boys Shootout was the fight everyone wanted....except the 2 "ABC" sanctioning bodies.

87-0, 71KO's before his first draw even. (should have been a loss)
He got his first loss a couple of fights later.

Both guys never wore a TBE hat though ;)

So if Chavez had retired at 87-0 Floyd would be sucking it? :)

That's not the point, as according to Floyd is was about the numbers alone.
He didn't care that 49-0 only was significant because it was the heavyweight record, when nobody (not even bumbashers) ever made it past that point. He didn't care that it wasn't the unbeaten streak record (by far) or the wins in a row record (by a country mile), or even the retirement record... It was about 49-0+ without a draw or no-contest, and retirement.

Purely a number record of little significance, but Floyd made it big and his fans ate it up.
Floyd's legacy, despite the controversies, is far greater as that stupid little record with stipulations. But he made it a bullet point, and now it gets mocked at every turn.
Joke is, that the moment he returns in even a tune-up fight he instantly loses that "special" record, and immidiately tumbles outside the top 20 for any "active" record.

i agree, and i said so to all his stupid fans who ate that garbage up when floyd first said it, some of who are still here and would testify if they had the nerve. i was just making a joke about the stupidity of the statement and the way the dumbasses tried to justify it.
