What differences in his game did you notice later in his Welter career? That would suggest he was green.

Good anaylisis. Thing is though while he is doing this he is applying pressure, it is not so much boxing as 'very educated pressure.'

I agree with you though, he eats Floyd up basically.

Ya -- I have to wonder if Basillio would even think about outboxing PBF. The more obvious route to victory would be to just act like the bigger, tougher, stronger bully, and beat the **** right out of Floyd. Nice fight though. One I never thought about before.

I never thought about that matchup either. I guess me and many people here got carried away into thinking about Robinson/Mayweather that we never thought about a Basilio/Mayweather matchup. They don't get much tougher than Basilio so I think he beats Floyd too and pretty convincingly. He would not back down or get discouraged.

Carmen never was that comfortable with boxer types but barring a Nady or Cortez reffing this one Carmen should emerge a clear winner.

Basilio. Too strong, with stamina, natural welterweight, went up to campaign at middleweight successfully. Ask Ray robinson.

Floyd is just now taking 'vitamins' to get himself up to fight blown up featherweights and over the hill welterweights etc etc.

Basilio is all over him like white on rice or stink on sh*t.

I don't think it is an easy fight due to Mayweather's foot speed and reflexes...He is hard to reach when he keeps that left foot just outside the opponent's lead foot. But what sets Basilio apart from anybody Mayweather ever fought was his tenacity and toughness. No what what position Mayweather takes, Basilio will come after him relentlessly. I think Basilio would take a decision based on his overall aggressiveness. Bottomline, Mayweather won't discourage Basilio at all...

Floyd won't battle. He'll hang, coast, survive, and lose a decision. He will get out-worked, and will have seriously trouble competing for those last significant rounds.

I have a question that is a bit off topic. Anybody know why Bassillio never fought my home boy Denny Moyer. Pretty mucn EVERYBODY that mattered fought Moyer, but not Carmen.

Timing I guess boo...Moyer was a young welter when Carmen was an old and semi-retired middleweight.
