is lamotta too big and strong for the incredibly tough basillo or can carmen beat him by taking his game away like he did to srr?

very hard question this one. i tend to say lamotta but i think out of every 10 fights they have. jake would win about 6 times and carmen 4. so the difference is marginal

i think you got it right with the first part of your question.
no doubt basilio was a hard man but i think he'd struggle against lamotta the way he did in those nightmares against fullmer

There's nothing hard about this question. Basilio gets overwhelmed physically. Lamotta has to be one of the rare guys that was far more durable and far stronger and a bigger puncher. Plus, Lamotta rivals Basilio's stamina. Stylistic it's a Jake fight all the way.

Yes, LaMotta bigger and stronger. Basilio gives a spirited performance en route to being overtaken by the bigger man. Jake by UD or late KO.

I wanna see these two mean old farts get in the ring in Canastota! Seriously, Gene Fullmer may have given us a pretty good idea of how LaMotta/Basilio might have gone. Jake had some underrated skills, and I think he could have had some success outboxing Basilio as well as confronting him physically.
