Carmine Basilio vs Ricky Hatton @ welter

I think that this could be an ugly fight. Not in a Hurtado vs. Mayweather kind of way, but a Benn vs. a '97 Hopkins kind of way. I think that Basilio was to big and too strong for Hatton.

Basilio ko's him in about 8 rounds I think. Bigger, stronger, better boxing ability, better chin, really, I think Hatton may have faster feet and that's about it.

BIG DEE HERE= Basilio would have butcherd hatton by the 4th rd. leaving Hatton a pathetic mess. I have said for a long time that Hatton was overrated
and the fight with Mayweather just showed it as he never fought an in his prime really quality welterwight or jr welterweight. BASILIO KO BY THE 4TH RD

Lot's of good welterweights around when Basilio fought.

No disrespect to Hatton, but could you see Ricky moving up and
beating Sugar Ray Robinson as Basilio did.

Zero chance for Hatton - Basilio is the tougher, bigger, better conditioned and much more skilled fighter who fought successfully at middleweight, Hatton has proven he is just a contender at welterweight.

I'd go for Basilio TKO3.

I would fancy the likes of Saxton and DeMarco to destroy Hatton also.
