i don't disagree, but not at the point where the opponent has an advantage in every other category besides height, weight and reach or 'size'

Edit - I guess undermost circumstances strength could be added, especially under such extreme parameters

Don't get me wrong. I don't see past the idea of Langford landing an inside hook and ending it. Nor do I see past Carnera peppering the jab and winning by default.

Could go either way for me.

I'm talking about the actual picture of the fight. A giant vs a midget, has a matchup like this ever occurred before?

The closest I've hear is Langford vs Fulton (or maybe Firpo) a d the crowd actually laughed when they touched gloves.

Luf in my post I literally mention Langford fighting (and beating) a guy who was 6'6. He struggled with Tate but he was already an older fighter although he pulled out a win in the series.

    There are pictures online.

This is a bit of a long shot, but here goes. Haye was no small man, but the size difference against Valuev was pretty substantial, an ancient Holyfield also came close. I know Carnera is no Valuev (lol) I'm a little unsure what I mean by that, regardless Langford's tactics would be similar to Holyfield's initially, if Carnera's size, strength and power became too much, it isn't too hard to envision him playing hit and not get hit, taking a more measured approach like Haye did. And Like McG has pointed out, a 30 year old Langford how ever many fights down the line was still besting a young Wills. Meanwhile he was still giving just about as good as he was getting with McVea and Jeanette. Fighters I'm convinced are better than Primo, no disrespect.
The reaction of Him feeling Langford's power would be far more shocking than vice versa.

Tate was actually 4-4-1 versus Langford, counting their newspaper decisions. (one Tate win a "regular" points decision) :think

I thought Langford also had a decision win. But I stand corrected.

Anyway an old Langford held a guy da preem's size to a standstill.

Except Tate was never the fighter that Carnera was and was 30 to 40 pounds lighter and his reach was 4 inches shorter. Tates ONLY "meaningful" win was over an old Langford. They essentially split a series. So pretending that Langford struggling with a sparring partner like Tate somehow means he would beat a much bigger, stronger, and better Carnera is a bit disengenuous.

He technically has a win over Harry Wills, too.

Granted, it was a chintzy DQ, but they also fought to a draw later that week.

He also, FWIW, beat Gunboat Smith (albeit in a rematch, avenging the loss from a few years prior).

Just saying, Tate doesn't have Carnera's accomplishments but he wasn't a bum. If he was "just a sparring partner" he was a high class one. (in fact, didn't Jack Dempsey himself employ Tate as his chief partner in that capacity?)

I'll have to find those pictures
I just imagine the fight would look ridiculous, especially when touching gloves.
