This is a interesting match up in my opinion. Norton struggled against certain types of fighters, the big punchers but had more success against the boxer types young, ali and Holmes. Despite being of the herculean type he wasn't the hardest of punches yet he did have a powerful right hand. So knowing what we know about Carnera and Norton how does it play out? Would Norton be the 70 s heavy that primo defeats with ease? Or can Norton give a baer like beating to him?
Norton of the first ali fight against primo of the sharkey ko?

LOL. You can't get enough of Carnera, can you?

Needless to say, Norton wins a UD.

Lol it looks that way but honestly I don't spend all day thinking of Carnera thread s. But seriously, this one got me thinking when someone mentioned carnera verses 70 s heavyweight s. Norton s probably seen as the most vulnerable of the big guys in the golden age but the one that gave Ali three hard fights. So he's a enigma in a way. Thought wonder how people see him doing against the man of the moment.

    Hahaha - Fair enough.

Well - even though Norton gets rapped from some quarters for being a bit fragile, I think that he really only showed his vulnerable once, in his prime - to the biggest of punchers - Foreman. Garcia caught him green; Shavers and Cooney caught him when he was pretty much done.

Carnera is not the best of punchers anyway so, I think Norton needn't worry too much.

I would favour Norton but rule nothing out. After all, the closest Norton fought to Primo Carnera was Jack O'Halloran who gave him a much tougher fight than O'Halloran was able to give Jack Bodel. It was not just Foreman, mac Foster and Ron Lyle, Guys like Bodel, jimmy Summerville knocked out O'Halloran.

O'Halloran was knocked out 8 times but went the full distance with Norton. It makes me think Norton had difficulty with a journeyman giant, how will kenny cope with Carnera? I can't see Primo losing to Jack Bodel by knockout.
