Carnera definitely had power, the man was a sculped 260 but he wasn't a devastating puncher or anything

With Primo getting all the attention I feel like Johhny Wilson desreve his own thread..possibly. the best Middleweight title reign of alltime.

Hulk Hogan defeated an admittedly over the hill Andre.

Being sculpted deosn`t mean you have power, Ruiz hits harder than a young schwarzenegger.

Correct me if im wrong but a pretty good percentage of his wins came by KO/TKO. Heavyweights were smaller back then yeah but he definitely wasn't a small puncher. Of course being sculpted doesn't result in power but it can help

Suggest you go see just whom the majority of KOs were against, and how many of them were legit.

Nah, all of Professional wrestling has virtually always been scripted.
You can even see a youtube video where Hogan says nobody knew whether Anrdre would let homself be body slammed.
And Hogan tore a lat muscle from the enormous effort.

In Hogan's biography, he admitted that Andre could have snapped his neck if he wanted to.

He also admitted to being afraid of Harley Race.

On a related note, Primo was a fine wreslter, and they got him into the fake stuff after his boxing career when he was throwing around the wrestlers before a guest appearance, and the promoter realized he had a natural.

I don`t think he could have hurt any modern top 10 heavy.

Andre was in enormous pain v Hogan and was pretty much done with wrestling by that stage, after that match he just became a tag team wrestler standing at the side of the ring apron looking menacing because he was in so much pain all the time.

Saw an Andre the giant documentary where Hogan states the match-up was arranged to make Hogan a superstar, Andre along with Hogan was the biggest star in wrestling and the event became the highest ratings winner for a "sports" event ever up to that point, but Hogan was worried that Andre wouldn`t "go over" at the end of the match.
WrestleMania III sold more tickets than the Super Bowl, and WWE was now the undisputed owner of the indoor attendance record. As the show came to a close, WWE, Hulk Hogan, and Andre the Giant crossed the threshold of entertainment immortality together.

This was billed as the first time Hogan slammed André, despite having done it multiple times in 1980. André had also been slammed previously by Harley Race, El Canek and Stan Hansen, among others.

I am not saying Carnera is on the level punching of say Tyson or any other hard hitter. He had a decent punch and if he landed "Right", he could take a man's head off. It just rarely happen. He is in the middle of pack imo of hitters. The uppers are Louis, Foreman, Tyson, ete. Than we have the decent hitters like Carnera.

I'm sure he would hurt any boxer if he connected perfect punch. It's the other matter whether he would land, but beliefs that Carnera couldn't punch hard are stupid.

Carnera never landed any perfect punches because of bad body mechanics. Ruiz would have taken Carnera`s shots easily, AJ has far more power than Carnera had.
