People were talking about Carpantier in another thread, so I thought I'd post this.
This is some pretty great footage for 1923.

Wait a minute is this the same guy who a certain elite historian says only had a right hand and couldnt do anything else? Oh, and another thing I didnt see the punch that ko'd Beckett. Beckett was down and crawling around and there was no punch. Oh that's right they needed the theatrics to spice up the film so that they could make more money lol.

Great footage. Carpenter holds his opponents arms a bit like Jack Johnson and resembles Roy Jones a bit in style.

Carp has an all time right hand and when you have an asset such as that you use it. To just call him a right hand puncher and nothing more is a gross exaggeration. This video illustrates some of his skills. There is a reason he was ranked so highly for so long.

If you see clear footage of the guy in training you will also see one heck of a great looking athlete....cut and in shape to a fine degree. Not many went into the ring as finely honed as Carpentier.
