    Somehow this full version of the Dempsey Carpentier film from Youtube escaped me .. watching it last night I came across a few seconds of Carpentier sparring who I believe is Joe Jeanette .. check out 19:19 ..

    Maybe. The sparring opponents looks a bit too stocky. Did Jeannette gain a lot of weight outside of his prime?

    I think so, yes. The press described him as "fat and soft, compared to his old form".

    He actually did .. got much thicker through the stomach, backside nd legs ..

    Late in film there are two different clips of the fight preliminaries ... one may be Tunney vs JUones ..

    Then it could be him. Jeannette was hanging around and once appeared in the ring to sub in for a Dempsey opponent. Dempsey walked away from it. News papers could verify the sparring partners. Good find.
