It seems nobody's ever mentioned about the CASA/MARQUEZ PPV output and GATE attendance. Any results on how much it made?:-(

if it did good, its because of the guzman-campbell cancellation.

    if it did bad...bad economy.

Golden Boy Promotions is ARROGANT and they, had it been a financial success, would have posted numbers all over the net. The fact that they are silent speaks volumes.

Fact: In this day and age they don't have PPV that costs the promotion money :deal

If it does, it's benefitial in the long run whether you want to believe it or not.

Ok, let me put it this way. GBP and Time Warner collaborate to do a PPV. Oscar is the Promoter, and needs to pay his fighters. Everyone on the card is paid, and are mostly GBP guys, unless Oscar has brought back the Kunta Kinte days. The more PPV buys, the more he makes as a Promoter, and the more his guys make. I know that Oscar is tight with HBO, but I dont think they just "give" him a PPV date and airtime.

I remember reading 10,000 paid for at the arena/venue.

PPV wise? Who knows. It definitely got a nice little push from Joan Guzman...I think it did alright but nothing special.

Should have done alright, it was a Mexican independence day event and Marquez vs Casamayor was an attractive fight.

Numbers normally take a week or two to figure out.

I ordered it..mainly out of spite to teach Showtime a lesson over the Guzman incident (yes I'm an idiot).

It was a good event featuring three very different types of skill (JMM, Vernon Forrest and Victor Ortiz), throw in mexican independence day and you're looking at okay numbers.

I am pretty sure that only 7,500 showed up. They mentioned on a local vegas sports radio show that around 5,000 paid. The arena holds twice as many that showed up.

There's a post around here that said something like 9,785 or something like that. It might've been 7,985 perhaps...It's definitely in THAT range.

I wish I had a link to it man

Definitelly, that's why the JMM nuthuggers like DIVAC, 4ROUNDER, etc..are all so quiet pertaining to this issue. They've been barking about PACMAN / DIAZ sales but can't come out now about their boy JMM. Well, obviously MARQUEZ is not a real saleable commodity, been tested, tried and true. That's why he's aiming for PACMAN because only through him, can he earn another 7 FIGURE payday. Well, who doesn't, but I hope he should be man enough to accept results, like what PACMAN did in the first fight, when it was announced that one of the JUDGES messed up. Does sportsmanship still exist? Not to the JMM and his nuthuggers I'm sure.:hat

According to BOXING NEWS' Ricardo Lois article dated Sept. 18, the live gate attendance for CASAMAYOR/ JMM is a little over 3,000. IMPRESSIVE(?).:hat
