I don't know if this has been posted yet. Article from espn's boxing section.

Lightweight world champion Joel Casamayor, idle since claiming the title against the late Diego "Chico" Corrales nearly a year ago, is ready to make his ring return after other fights fell through and he changed promoters.
Casamayor, 36, who recently signed with Golden Boy Promotions after splitting with DRL Promotions, will fight Nov. 10 at Madison Square Garden in New York, against top-10 contender Jose Armando Santa Cruz (25-2, 14 KOs), Golden Boy vice president Eric Gomez told ESPN.com. The fight will be one of the featured bouts on the HBO PPV card headlined by Cotto-Mosley. Casamayor (34-3-1, 21 KO) hasn't fought since winning the Ring magazine title against Corrales last fall. Shortly after that Oct. 7 bout in Las Vegas, Casamayor, whose proposed fight with Acelino "Popo" Freitas fell through, was stripped of his alphabet belt by the WBC. Later, under the threat of litigation, the WBC named him interim titleholder. If Casamayor defeats Santa Cruz in November, he and Golden Boy are open to any big match. "We'd like to do a fight with the Juan Diaz-Julio Diaz winner, maybe Michael Katsidis, David Diaz, whoever is there," Gomez said. "If they consider themselves a top guy, they have to go through Casamayor. He's also told us he is willing to go to 140." Added Golden Boy boss Oscar De La Hoya: "Joel Casamayor wants to fight the best, and that's what we want, too."

Santa Cruz is the guy David Diaz knocked out to win the WBC title. Cruz had the fight won by points when he got knocked down and couldn't recover in the 10th round.

If he does move up, how do you think Casamayor can do against the top guys at 140 like Harris, Witter, Malignaggi, Torres, & Hatton?... oh yea can't forget about that other "champion" Gavin Rees:roll:

    fuking large.

one of my fav fighters. always comes in trim/fit ,never makes excuses and always looks good.

almost every fight he hasnt got a win he never ever looked bad even against diego he knocked him down. and won the first 7 rounds and had a bit of a scrap at the end of the fight but not enough for corrales to win.

at 140 would be nice for him to be a 3 wieght world champion. but remember he was a bantamwieght/super fly when he was in the amatuers this is just ato high i feel unless he has some speed or hieght advatages then thats cool but he hasnt he ais a slick southpaw boxer who has a wicked left hand. and against hatton, rees, malignaggi, witter just doesnt seem right for him.
hatton and rees are high workrate body punchers with little respect for boxing. malignaggi is very slick and will not go anywhere near casa he will run and jab it's a bad fight for him.

but witter? witter is a counterpunchers dream he throws wild shots and doesnt back it up a pure southpaw i think would do very well against him.

but really lightwieght is what he should ask for. juan diaz he should be aiming for. juan is young high energy and very exiting and now the new lightwieght unified champion where as joel is the undisputed champion.thus making this fight very lucrative.

i think he should stay at lightwieght fight juan and some lightwieght contenders then win lose or draw go up in wieght and finish his last years looking for a light welter title

    Ah Casa..what could have been.

Getting to old now and it is showing, still a guy with his class can topple a lot of good fighters and give anyone a hard fight.

He should've gotten that fight earlier-he aint getting younger anymore.
Anyway, I've heard that Armando Santa Cruz has been Manny Pacquiao's sparring partner several times during PAC's training for that PACMAN-EL TERRIBLE rematch. I think DIAZ was just lucky he landed that punch on Armando's face(Armando was leading inscorecards when he got KTFO).

I find it pretty cool the Lightweight Championship of the world is being defended on the same card as a dream fight like Cotto-Mosley.

How the **** could the WBC change him to Interim champion?

They probably did that just so Morales could fight an easier champ.

Cotto-Mosley by itself is worth this PPV. Top Rank/GBP have gone ABOVE AND BEYOND putting together this excellent card! A stacked card....also word that Victor Ortiz will be on this card. Theres so many fights rumored to be on this I'm begginig to foget...I beleive I read Joshuha Clottey might also be fighting on this as well...not sure if that is true/will come to frutation. Hopefully though!

    Can't wait for Nov 10!
