OK so since the Marquez impressive win over Casamayor alot of people have been talking about how old Casa looked and how past it he is. To me this was a very technical matchup and Casa to me looked sharp and in the best shape and condition. Let me ask this question...How would the Casamayor of this saturday do against the Diaz that just fought Manny PAC?

:hand Please. Absolute bull****. Sounds like sour grapes from detractors of JMM to me...

You're right. That was one of the great technical matchups in the last 10yrs at least. Fought at the highest level of the sport and we even got the dramatic ending!! That was the best Casa I've seen. I don't own a dvd set of his fights as I think he's kind of an *******, but I've seen him various times over the last few yrs...Hell, were he to perform like that more often he might make a fan outta' me.

For the record: JMM would also register a dominating performance against DDiaz. Not like...

Joel Casamayor may not be at his peak anymore, but he has shown in his last 2 fights with the young and hard-hitting Katsidis and one of the very best boxers in the world Marquez, that he is anything but 'shot'. I would say Roy Jones Jr is shot, Evander Holyfield is shot, Fernando Vargas is shot, Felix Trinidad is shot - Casamayor is not. He would stop David Diaz if they fought now.

Casa is certainly not the same fighter he was 5 years or so ago.

You can argue whether he's shot, but he certainly is severely faded, at the least. His awkward style always has caused great problems, and now he's a little less awkward because his legs aren't what they were.

That was a really good win for JMM especially getting the stoppage, I never expected that.

Even though Casa is past his best, when considering that JMM is also over 30 and was moving up to 135 it was an excellent win for him.

I admire CASAMAYOR inspite of being shot already he put up a good fight. the outcome is unrpedictable if not for that TKO. Obviously CASA made it hard for JMM inspite of his age. I give credit more to CASA. JMM was just lucky IMO. Evidence are the JUDGES scores. By the way I hope JMM avenge his so called controversial loss to CHRIS JOHN. Why always PACMAN, why not CHRIS JOHN? If he really wants to prove his worth, CLEAR that issue as well. GO JMM..GO.:hat

.....aaaaaaaand once again, the definition of "shot" is *******ized on ESB.

Casamayor is not SHOT, he's OLDER and his reflexes have slowed a tad. That is not what it means to be SHOT. He was very competitive with one of the top P4P'ers in the world before he got caught.

Both Marquez and Casamayor were a bit past their prime, which for both of them was about 2-5 yrs ago.

They are both world class fighters while Marquez proved that he is an elite one even now.

The statement that JMM made this weekend by stopping Casamayor was huge and it can't denied. Casamayor was fighting well.
