First of all, he barely got by his last fight, and I mean barely. He does not want to take a chance against Campbell because he knows he will probably lose. However, if he fights Pac, he will make enough money to retire, so it's a logical decision. Casa just wants that one big payday before he retires. Yes, he will lose to Pac, no doubt about it, too much pressure from Pac.

    Pac probably beats him.

However, I think Campbell would easily dispose of Pac, what do you think Farmboxer?

I think Casa is a worse style matchup for Pacquiao than Campbell is, just Campbell has more in the tank than Casa. And Campbell has very good power.

I think Campbell is worse for Casa style wise than Pacquiao right now as well.

I'd be rooting for Casa against Pac, I think Casa can hurt him with the straight left, no doubt. Do you think Katsidis punches harder than Pac?

he's running from Campbell because he wants to fight Pac before taking a chance of picking up an L

Yes, I think Katsidis punches harder than Pac. I have watched his power diminish at each weight class. The mere fact that Katsidis could hurt Casa that bad shows he has power. Just bad technique and placement. Horrible sense of distance too.

I think Pacquiao can beat Casa by doing what Katsidis did, just don't get caught. However, remember when Trinidad went too far up in weight against Hopkins, and when faced with a bigger stronger man (not harder punching) he was pushed around and beaten up. Same with Mosley against Wright? Pacquiao may be about to experience that.

Pac will keep pressure on him, he can't take that. Look what happened when Casa fought an inexperienced fighter like Katsitis. Lucky Katsitis ran in to him carelessly, if not, he would have lost and was losing.

he already won against campbell and when you're already old and have only a few fights left why wouldn't you take the big payday just like what others are doing..

and imo pac has more power than katsidis, kats couldn't even KO amonsot who was KOed by a thai in the 1st round

He wants the best payday out there cause he's way past it. Obviously Campbell isn't the best payday out there

I'm pretty confident that Pacquiao would blow Casamayor out in the early-mid rounds. Casa going life and death with Katsidis (who is C+/B- level at best and is an easy style for him) says a lot about how shot he is. He was 100% up for the Katsidis fight and still got hurt multiple times, showed declining reflexes, and just looked overall faded. Katsidis' biggest problem against Casa was his lack of an outside game. He doesn't know what a jab is and he can't do anything from the outside other than throw wide right hands. I also believe that Casa getting hurt was more of a result of his chin detiriorating at this point in his career rather than Katsidis' power being very good. His power is not significantly better than Pac's at 135 IMO.

Pac will be a completely different situation. He's one dimensional, but that dimension will be more than enough to destroy an old Casamayor. His hand/foot speed alone will be a huge problem, his accuracy/timing skills are much better than Katsidis', his defense/reflexes are much better, and his punches aren't easy to see coming. Pac will be able to connect his jab from the start against Casa and his power punches willl land soon after. Casa will not be able to handle Pac's speed and when he gets caught flush he will get hurt, this isn't the Casamayor of the early Chico fights.. his chin isn't the same anymore. Plus, his reflexes are not very good anymore, so Pac's straight lefts and right hooks will surprise him. I see Casamayor looking terrible in this fight.. unless he lands something big on Pac and hurts him he will not be beating him. A decision win is nearly impossible at this point.

As for the Campbell-Pac matchup, if Nate showed up even close to as focused/motivated as he did against Juan Diaz, he would KO Pac. Campbell-Casamayor would be an easy Campbell KO win too, unless he showed up completely unmotivated and unprepared. Casamayor is nearly shot, it's pretty clear.

If I was Casamayor I would wait until I could fight Pac, even if it meant another long period of inactivity. The payday is worth it and it's better go out on a loss to Pac than a loss to Santa Cruz or someone else on that level.
