Heh, np man. I figured there must be a few guys in there like yourself that picked him for shits and giggles. But I swear i saw a few peeps on diff threads here and there sayin they thought Casa had won . Cant find what thread though. Hopin if they were serious that theyd post their cards here. At this point I`m just really curious to see the cards.
Hey man Im a Casa fan, since his from my hometown, but he clearly lost that fight, the decicion didnt surprise me still cause they do that type of **** all the time to these hard working unknown fighters who fight champions and actually beat them
No need to post my card b/c Santa Curz WON!! That was a TERRIBLE decison and Casa lost by at least 4 rounds....AT LEAST!!!
I dont think any of those guys really believed Casa won, they just pick casa to tick some people off, which in this case they are successful (i do that sometimes, PAC KOs ROBINSON AND DURAN IN THE SAME NIGHT:yep )
Casa Santa Cruz 1. Robbed 2. Robbed 3. Robbed 4. Robbed 5. Robbed 6. Robbed 7. Robbed 8. Robbed 9. Robbed 10. Robbed 11. Robbed 12. Robbed Casa by way of robbery
Nah I think we have one guy that might think he won. Or at the very least wasent surprised about it and even questions what Santa Cruz did........ Most of those fights above are pretty close fights that you could make an argument for either. Anyway one that came to mind that I dont think was a "robbery" but surprised me was Hoya vs Sturm. Speaking of which, as I watched that Casamayor/Cruz fight, I didn't see the 10 rounds to 2 that the HBO guys did. AT ALL. Wasn't surprised by decision one bit. I just keep asking: what exactly did Cruz DO in that fight? I would love to see his card. I wont even flame, Im just real curious. From that post he doesnt come out and say he thinks Casa won , but not being surprised and then questioning what Santa did to win ....
SENT Good evening, I am a big boxing fan and enjoyed the Cotto / Mosley fight immensely. Even the undercard was good, but with one glaring exception. Santa Cruz pretty much shut out Casamayor but Casamayor was awarded a unjust decision victory. I go to the Boxing website East Side Boxing alot. There is one person there that I have encountered that wasen`t surprised with the decision, and even he hasen`t come out and said he thought Casa won the fight. Everyone that posts there KNOWS , not thinks Santa Cruz won that fight. The judging in that fight was atrocious, and that was the worst decision I have ever seen in all my years of watching boxing. It is so sad that Santa Cruz Trained and worked his butt off to be robbed like that. Robbery is a strong word that I hesitate to use. Some people use it lightly. However, in this instance, labeling the fight a ROBBERY is more than justified. I, like many of my fellow posters from ESB ( East Side Boxing ) will be sending you a messege to show that we care about our beloved sport and will not sit down and be quiet when we feel someone that puts their ass on the line isn`t getting a fair shake. There are many people that care. Some probably think...whats the use. But not us. Every time we see something like this happen, you will get a messege from the ESB faithful. Feel free to stop in at any time and check out the ESB community. Please look into this matter, it is of the utmost priority that we show the fighters that we appreciate and care for what they do. Since you asked me specifically, I'll tell you how. First off, it was a sh!t fight, and sh!t fights lead to shaky judging. Neither guy was very impressive. Casamayor clutched too much, and was showing obvious ring rust and age. Cruz walked forward throwing goofy, looping shots. He missed ALOT of punches against Casamayor. With that said he's how Casamayor could have got the decision: Clear rounds for Casamayor Round 7 - Good round for Casamayor (Harold Lederman gave Casamayor this round also) Round 11 - Casamayor won most of the exchanges Round 12 - Cruz backpedaled and took the round off Reasonable rounds for Casamayor Round 2 Round 3 Neither fighter did anything of note in those rounds. I think a reasonable argument could be made that Casamayor won these indecisive rounds with his jabs and a couple of 1-2 combos he landed. Cruz stalked but Casamayor slipped some of those shots. (FYI - I still can't find the 16 punches Compubox says Cruz landed in the 3rd.) Round 10 - Harold Lederman gave Casamayor this round Potential tossup rounds Round 6 - Casamayor begin to warm up a little and throw more authoritative punches. Both guys landed but the round was close. Combine the above with the notion (as ridiculous as it might be) that you have to 'beat the champ', the known fact that Casamayor is a tradition slow starter, and Cruz's own akwardness (looked 'goofy' at times and never dominated the 'old man'). Again, I'm not saying Casamayor won the fight. I AM saying that the so-called domination of Casamayor by Cruz was vastly overblown and this fight was NOT a 11-1 fight as was portrayed by the HBO telecast. Cruz deserves credit, and he landed alot of shots. But people are acting as if Casamayor spent the entire fight in trouble or getting thumped, and that was not the case at all.
Hey buddy, sorry I didn`t see this reply. I heard there was gonna be a mandatory rematch and forgot to check back here for any replies. I just saw on the front page of ESB a lil while ago that Guzman and santa wont be fighting each other next like I thought they were going to. That reminded me of this thread so I popped in and saw your above reply. I still think Santa did enough to win by a good deal, but seeing you lay out your opinion like that makes me want to see the fight again and really watch closely. I think I had it 9-3 or 8-4 for Santa, but I forget. Thx for the reply
I agree that we shouldn`t cry, but voicing a opinion that can be backed up is a good thing. Given that a rematch is demanded now, I am glad that we raised a stink about it. On one hand I can understand this point of view... but still. Imagine you were the other fighter. You trained and fought your heart out and rightly won the decision. All the hell of training camp, missing family, and the feeling before the winner being announced is, in your mind, just a formality. You are ready to realize your dream of becoming champion. Then you get hit with a nutshot like that when you hear in disbelief the judges scores . Would you care that the guy that just got a gift against you had been a victim of the very thing that just happened to you in his past? I despise that saying 2 wrongs don`t make a right, but I feel it applies here.
 omg was it that bad! Damn I haven´t seen the fight and assumed it was kind of a robbery. But this sounds just unbelievable:shock: :huh But I think casa is not the one to blame for this. He didn´t score the fight. it were the judges:fire (and GBP of course)
