No I haven't watched the fight. But you made reference specificaly to him being KO'd. From the GIF he isn't doing anything stupid, just throwing a straight right hand and beggining to follow it with a left hook like a boxer is supposed to.

Wow people, a "check hook" is nothing special. To "check" someone is just to hit them while move out of the way.

A "check left hook" is just hitting someone with a left hook while they're coming in and moving out of the way. You can "check" someone with anyone.

The term "check" is just some boxing vernacular particular to the Detroit/Michigan area boxing trainers. Any trainer worth his stuff knows what this is, it just so happens that Floyd Mayweather is from that area, and so is Emanuel Steward. So on the HBO broadcast both Floyd and Emanuel referred to it as a "check left hook".

Though in my gym no one would say "Hatton was hit with a check left hook", they would say "Floyd checked him with a left hook coming in"

Its just a left hook said by boxing people from a particular area.

Though actually I think its just an east coast thing because I've heard people from everywhere from Detroit to Philly to Manhattan to Brooklyn say it.

You don't strike me as a particularly bright poster, but that doesn't make you stupid. It means you make posts I think aren't particularly bright.

Katsidis is a very limited fighter, with an exciting style who got over aggressive and was made to pay for that mistake by a quality vetern fighter. Why try and take away from an impressive knock out by Casamayor by running down Katsidis? Why not say something intelligent instead of calling someone stupid?

As stated, Casa is a southpaw so technicaly its not a left hook. . . a looping left or an overhand left, but not a hook.
