that's incredible. and not a lot of footage? that's damn unfortunate. mexico's incredible fighting history has been interesting me more and more lately as debates about the greatest mexican fighter/s deepens the more you examine it. the world no longer begins and ends with chavez
oh yeah, for sure. saldivar is pretty well respected and known but you're right: he's rarely included in the top mexican conversations. much like canto he's placed on a different level from the chavez-sanchez-olivares group

Where did I ever say Gonzalez was a bum? I said he doesn't make my top 5 at Light Flyweight and not just because others have a better resume than he does, but he wasn't very consistent with performances at his peak. If you must make such a ridiculous comparison, Ali was on his last legs when he was beaten by Spinks, Gonzalez was at his peak physically. He actually pulled out the win, I'm just saying a lot of his outings left me unimpressed.
Top 10 Mexicans is a hardy...that number 10 spot has about 7 or 8 guys attacking it viciously, pushing hard to slip into the rankings whilst they all sit on equal 11. I dont think I would have any of those guys pushing for that spot however. Casanova is one guy Im looking a lot more into right now though...his record is very impressive for top shelf wins.
I agree 100% with what you said. My top 9 list would look something like this: Julio Cesar Chavez Ruben Olivares Salvador Sanchez Vicente Saldivar Erik Morales Marco Antonio Barrera Ricardo Lopez Miguel Canto Carlos Zarate ???????? <---- and that number 10 spot, like you said, is viciously attacked by the likes of Casanova, Arizmendi, Azteca, ect, ect....
Thanks. Honestly i have no problem with EM and MAB switching spots and /or RL, MC, and CZ switching as well. Just the top 4 are written in stone for me, in that order too. :good:
