    Evening all.

I have been sat here for the last half hour thinking about instances where something has happened that changed Boxing and made it better? I can only think of one and that came out of the tragedy of what happened to Michael Watson.

After that fight and the aftermath of it, Medical assistance ringside was vastly improved and measures would be taken to try and do everything possible to make sure a boxer is safe and healthy.

Other than that I'm a little bit stuck, can anybody else think of any?

I suppose for us fans, the invention of the internet was a good point, it allowed us to see fights and clips we would have never seen and the information it provides.

I think the internet is a great shout and underrated hard to believe that there was a time when you werent able to look up the record of any fighter on the planet with a few clicks of a mouse.

The internet has helped in the transparency in that side of thing before you used to take the network or the promoters word on the record of a fighter and that gave plenty of opportunity for forging records.

Floyd Mayweather enforcing proper drug testing in his fights, has had a ripple on affect in the whole sport of boxing. Finally after years of being probably the only elite global sport with no heavy stance on drugs in sport, boxing has joined the war of drugs. It's happening slowly but surely, most boxers/coaches are very uneducated about the seriousness of the issue, very ignorant and ******ed..........

It is hard to believe, the internet has become taken for granted its even harder to imagine that a whole new generation don't remember the days when all you had was newspapers and teletext.

Youtube has been great, Forums if used properly are as well. Within the sport i'm not to sure what's improved in recent years.

Suppose recent drug tests exposing a few has helped, not much else i can think of..

The drug testing has been a positive point on the most part, although the war is far from over, my only slight criticism of it is that punishments should be more hefty, send out a message that its not acceptable in any circumstance.

A lot more could be done in the world of boxing to expose the cheats and the lads that are getting exploited. A lot goes on behind the scenes that people don't know about and not writen about in the papers. A lot of boxers are the losers and its the managers and promoters that are the rich one. so forums used in the correct manner are great but a lot is just used to bait people, start gossip and send out wrong images of people. and a lot of the time its taken in the wrong way on forums as people don't see the expressions so alot get upset by what is written.

How do people view FW breaking up the old boxing cartel of Micky Duff and co? Would that be classed as a good point?

Agree totally lads, The punishments are pathetic. But the sport is trying to look after everyone and especially that money. I hear things, people tell me things in trust about stuff that's going on. It don't shock me all this drug cheat stuff, i've had my suspicions for a long time..
