Gamboa wins easily. He's not fighting Baloyi though. If he beats Speedy Gonzalez in his next fight, he'll fight Elio Rojas for a vacant title. The contingency plan is Cristobal Cruz.
Then how does boxrec do its rankings? They have Cassius Baloyi as Number 1 at 130. At 5'10" I thought he would be tough. If you guys say he is bad, then I believe you, but why would boxrec screw up the rankings this badly???
Gamboa looks like another Hbo milk project...alot of hype and little substance..his chin is def. suspect
no you dont think so?..his last fight he looked incredibly suspect and people jsut dont grow iron chins..if its glass it stays glass..their gonna make him fight guys with little to no punching power in his next few fights garaunteed..then after theyve made 20 million off him they will let him get knocked out..as you can see im not impressed..lol
Boxrec's rankings are done by computer rating. Baloyi has some decent wins on his resume, but he's one of those awkward guys who doesn't look that good in the ring and who almost never dominates anyone. He's also a bit on the slow side, and I suspect he would have problems with Gamboa's speed. I don't think it would be an early KO, but I think he would get dominated. He's kind of like a Junior Witter style fighter. #1 seems high to me, but honestly there's nobody good at 130 right now. It's basically Humberto Soto and a bunch of scraps. Everyone else moved up to 135.
