Cassius of Rome versus Neon Leon who got the gold in Montreal. How would these two have done against each other as amateurs ?

I think that Muhammad Ali, who was legally known at that time as Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr, wins this 3 round bout by unanimous decision in this Light Heavyweight encounter over Leon Spinks. Clay had more stamina, better footwork, and speed. Leon as aggressive as he is would miss a lot in trying to connect, plus the Rope a Dope would not be invented until 1974.

I envisage it precisely how you do,Richard. Re the Rope a Dope,I recalled earlier today that Muhammad never actually dreamt the name up until the Ron Lyle fight one year later even though he'd been doing it to some extent since he returned to the ring in 1970.
