There is no, none nada evidence regarding what this pathetic poster is trying to convey. miteff was koed at least 8 times in his career and was a few fights away from retirement when Ali fought him. There was no need for a fix...Miteff did not have a chance.

Muangsurin was a decent punchbag for tommy hearns. If he was as tough as the likes of hagler maybe he could have tested the young gangly hearns.

All champions (no matter how talented) benefit from being on the right side of the house during the grooming process. If the whole early career has been loaded in the stars favour it ensures the manager is only on a 50-50 gamble against a tired champ once they reach the money fights. It is the natural order. Always has been. Even for great champions.

There is a point where a manager needs to be making a profit and that is when even good fighters become a either a name or an opponent. Two guys who work as hard in the gym with equal initial potential wont always both become champions. The one who sells tickets becomes the name. No point in protecting the other guy in the house who does not sell if theres more money taking him out of the house.

Alex miteff was a good fighter who was not getting the breaks. Clay at that point had the makings of a good fighter and he was still getting the breaks.

Is it a fix if Miteff works that out when hes getting tired and the other guy is still fresh?

Records don’t always tell a story. Miteff could have been good but he got married young and soon became discouraged. Unlucky with cuts Alex did not become a draw and once he became a father he would take any fight anywhere .

Who's to say Pepe' isn't right that money was paid out to "insure" Miteff wouldn't win AND Cassius Clay beats him fair and square at the same time?

I understand Pepe' is trying to break "kayfabe" about Clay/Ali and he's riling up the rank and file here who believe boxing was as pure as a baby's bottom, but he could still be right and the film still showing that Clay was clearly superior and was a clean stoppage. You wouldn't necessarily have to buy off the presumed better fighter. You might buy off the opponent "just to make sure".

D9..point is its one thing to have real evidence of a fix but quite another to make things up. The poster is making things up. Beyond stupid, beyond illogical. All it does is confuse the many young and inexperienced on here.

    D9,

Very well written, and to the point.

Alex Miteff was 'a name fighter', despite his 'sagging career'.

If anyone wants to get into the Lamar Clark 'circus sideshow bout' as for over-matched
fixed bouts.......that promotion was 'beyond pathetic'.

As for Alex Miteff, he was brought in, strictly as a 'record-padder'. He received a
fight purse of $10,000 for a Nationally Televised bout.

With a 'wink' and a 'nod'.

nearly every topic this guy has made since he joined 6 months ago has been about defaming Ali

most of this posts are complete fabrications without a single iota of truth ... libelous nonsense ....

Ali beating your favorite fighter Sonny Liston really makes you hate the guy that much or is it something else? I find it amazing how someone can put so much energy and give so much attention to hating someone like that ...

    :D

You Ali nuthuggers deserve this. For all the times you tried to rob Kenny Norton. For claiming that Ali deserved to hold on to the title after that disgraceful showing against Young. For counting jabs missed over power punches landed. Give it to em Pepe!
