Clay was a LOT busier than Ali though. No need for a rope-a-dope with the stamina of a hungry 22 yr old.

I would definitely lean towards Clay.

If we make it the 1967 version of the man, then no question.

He toys with the Ali of the Thrilla !

They'd both knockout one another simultaneously.

But seriously, experience is the key. Ali.

I believe the speed difference is the key here.

Clay's jab lands more often and Clay avoids the Ali jab more often.

Ali would have to become the stalker, a role he never took on, early or late in his career.

hmm says... we'll find out in October who is the greatest for each of the original 8 weight classes when it is announced in Vegas. A new ATG is being created. It's a big event where a good majority of boxing legends and greats that are still alive will attend.. the event will last for 3 days.

There is no 1967 Clay. soon as the man put the belt on he said call him Ali. Clay would be overwhelmed by a 67 Ali , he would be tricked by a 74 75 Ali, and would beat into submition any Ali 76 and later

People are not comparing the 1967 Ali though.

What I don't get is why his performances in 67 are so much better than in 64. Yes he was a better fighter overall, but not as drastically as some people think. Ali's best performance ever was against Liston in their first fight, which happened in 64 :deal
