This is because most people just fall in line and dont have an opinion of their own. Everyone is drinking the kool aid.

Kind of like Ali self proclaiming himself to be the greatest of all time.

He was sui generis unless you can point to another athlete who was the subject of more books, documentaries, and movies and had audiences with the towering figure of his day from Gabel Abdul-Nassar to Indira Gandhi to Deng Xiao Ping to Nelson Mandela to Anwar Sadat to Fidel Castro to Gerald Ford to Ronald Reagan to Bill Clinton to George W. Bush to Barack Obama to Donald Trump. Regardless of who they were or what they believed they all wanted to bask in his reflective glow.

He must have been unique to mesmerize the entire world and to have entranced the most important figures of his day. Not bad for a pug.

How about this since it appears your a fan. Name just 1 book about Ali that doesent include or mention him ditching his Christian name to become a muslim or his many accounts of activism. I doubt there is 1 book because Ali inside and outside the ring are intertwined and his greatness is measured off of both. This is my point.

You added a few points such as he wasn't unique. He was sui generis. While Jimmy Carter, Anwar Sadat, and Menachem Begin were negotiating the peace treaty between Israel and Egypt Sadat and Carter took time out to watch Muhammad Ali in his rematch with Leon Spinks. Ali was bigger than boxing, bigger than professional sports. He was a towering figure hovering above it all

So … a biography of someone that doesn’t include biographical information?

It’s like saying ‘find me one book about Lincoln that doesn’t mention the Civil War’ or ‘find me one book about Neil Armstrong that doesn’t mention him going to the moon.’

I didnt say biography. Iv read many books and seen many documentaries about MJ and none of them mention his religion or if he was anti government. MJ's greatness is only measured by his accomplishments on the court.
You cant say the same about Ali

Theres many books on Walter Payton, Joe Montana, Magic Johnson and all kinds of great athletes that never leaned on their religion or activism for notoriety the way Ali did.

You can't disentangle Muhammad Ali's activism from his boxing career because his activism caused him to lose what would have been the prime of his boxing career.
