Much to Wards delightful surprise, Weeks surpasses all any any expectations of what he was bribed to and awards the Victory to Ward on the back of repeated fouls.

Kovalev just got done dancing the robot, was not returning punches, doubled over, sitting on the ropes. The ref could have let it go on it would have been the same outcome. Kovalev is about 7 years older than Joshua so I don't think his stamina would have recovered as well, bad example.

Actually you can't fault Weeks for his decision because it was his to make. That's what he gets paid for. For every fight that an out of it fighter has come back there is a fight where the ref let it go and serious damage and even death has occurred. It might not be popular with some people but that's the way it is. Ward stopped punching Kovalev on his own because Kovalev was unresponsive and a sitting duck for some serious head shots. If Weeks had of let it go and Ward damaged Kovalev in a such a way that he was unable to fight again then Weeks would have been a dirty ref who let Ward beat on Kovalev when he should have stopped the fight. I can hear the haters now. You can't have it both ways. It is what it is, deal with it.
