    Castillo's purse to be withheld!
A Nevada Federal Judge today has granted an attachment in favor of Gary Shaw Productions and Diego Corrales’s Estate of up to $1,200,000 of any monies to be paid to Jose Luis Castillo. As a result, Castillo will receive $0 for Saturday's Ricky Hatton fight. Shaw and Corrales sued Castillo after he failed to make weight for their rubber match in June 2006. The case has not come to trial, but boxing attorney Judd Burstein was successful in having Castillo's purse held in escrow pending the resolution of the lawsuit.

it's hard to think that castillo will fight for nothing but i'm torn because chico's wife and kids also need the money.

Gary Shaw should give them money himself then, the cheap *******.

At least wait until AFTER the fight to try and get the money. :-(

    WTF??????

Shaw is a f*cking scumbag, instead of waiting after the fight to settle this **** he is now messing with JLC's concentration.

this goes to jlc's motivation for the fight... how will he fight now knowing that he'll receive nothing.

Gary Shaw runs the risk of alienating himself from quite a bit of the boxing community for this.

Wait just a damn minute. Castillo was sued for not making the weight the 2nd time around, and everyone hated him for it. Yet Chico does to the same thing to Casa, and yet he was forgiven almost immediately.

The JLC bias never stops. :-(

maybe. but shaw should've waited after the fight. this will definitely affect jlc's performance vs. hatton.
