I haven't heard anyone talking about this fight but I've heard people taking about Cotto-Canelo.

I don't know if MMA and boxing are comparable in terms of fan base allure and business metrics. MMA cards often focus on several matches or the whole card whereas boxing cards are still carried by the main event.

A certain high-profile promoter has expressed the latter sentiment on more than one occasion in articulating why the contests prior to the main event are of little business value or public importance.

Those 21,000+ people who bought tickets are probably just going to sit around and talk about Cotto-Canelo...oh, and to see Gonzalez, of course. Probably all leaving before the Golovkin fight.

Idk about that at all..... the UFC is very Mainstream, while with boxing it really depends whos fighting to peak interest in casual fans.. Rousey is the face of the UFC right now, while Little G is not the face of anything at the moment..hes the face of the "Good Boy" Slogan but thats about it.

If they have heard of Golovkin then they are not "casuals".

ppv is not going anywhere, think of it like property and real estate

houses prices go up in metropolitan cities but yet salaries go down
so how do people afford to pay rent?

you find as many roommates as possible, simple

so when you see that a fight does 500k views, in reality, it has reached an exponential number of viewers as many people share the cost via fight parties, sports bars, etc.

i would pay 10 bones for golovkin, lemiuex easily. as long as the other 4 people pay their part of the ppv pot

that is bc boxing is a more technical sport, let alone the rich history

when i see men in shorts sniffing each other's butts for 6 minutes, it is not entertaining. i remembered doing brazilian ju jitsu for one year when royce gracie was killing ufc.

one day in the gym, my sparring parnter mounted me and got really deep into his mounting pose digging his crouch into my chest so i couldnt escape. i also learned that he was not wearing his cup. i never did BJJ again that day and decided to stick to boxing.
