Casuals are super excited for the Khan vs canelo fight, they don't realize Khan is being blown up to fight a much bigger man at a catch weight. Casuals see two big names going at it in their primes.

Mismatch and weights aside, styles make fights and we do not know how Khan will respond to the extra weight. This is the most lucrative fight aside from a mayweather rematch or pacquiao fight for canelo, which is ten times more than we can say for ggg's bum of the month club. Hopefully the undercard is stacked nicely.

This fight will sell a lot of ppvs and if canelo wins expect him to call out triple G in the post fight interview. A canelo vs ggg fight would not sell well at this point so props to canelos team to build up hype and momentum for a ggg showdown, we all know ggg's team is doing jack squat to hype it up.

Perhaps the casuals have it right for once, this fight can do a lot to build boxing's popularity back up.

So are you a casual? Your post seems to indicate that you're pro Canelo vs Khan.

I don't see that at all. People are more outraged about it, and I think it's a pointless fight.

Guys. It's not that big of a fight. Maybe to hardcore fans. Media (cough, Rafael) they say Khan is a big name but he isn't lol. He's relatively well-known, maybe a big name in Britian... But the MGM was empty last time he fought in the U.S. His viewership was abysmal as well. He has much drawing power in US as Kovalev. So why is this being termed a mega-fight?

It's not Khan's fault only a small handful of UK boxing fans are willing to watch a fight at 4am.

The majority of people who pay PPV for Khan are actually American fans.

I think this fight brings exposure to boxing, if canelo viciously ko's Khan ala Kirkland his stock will go up big time among the general public. Canelo will have the upper hand in every aspect of negotiations against ggg because ggg is not doing a damn thing to up his own stock.

They match up pretty well, actually. We all knew Canelo wouldn't fight anyone with a name, and really, I don't want to watch Canelo fight "I Always Lose" Rosado. It just doesn't interest me at all. Then you have Willie "Negative" Monroe that'll just be a snoozer like the Lara fight.

Canelo should fight Golovkin and only Golovkin, but if he has to have a voluntary, I don't mind the Khan fight too much.

They are? That's nice but as a fan who admires Canelo this fight is a steaming pile of poo.

    Your wrong
People in the know understand this is an even fight on paper. They also know that Kahn needs a Ko to win and a jr middle koing a cruiserweight is not likely.
If Canelo doesn't Ko Kahn were probably looking at a 7-5 Kahn decision but we will get 118-110 Canelo decision. Casual fans will say see, told you Canelo would win and knowledgeable boxing fans will consider it another asterik on canelos record just like Lara.

    Good competitive fight

Casual fight fans want to see Ggg vs Canelo. Knowledgeable fans know that is a blowout.
