honestly though I am against the catch weight deal if they agree then that is on them, that is the clause to fight Pacquiao if you want a peice of Pac you have to fight at a catch weight, same with Mayweather you want a peice of him you must under go OSTD

20 years ago there where no Jr divisions. Now that there are, there is no need for any catch weights, definitly not in a world title fight.:verysad

Hard to imagine why when 2 fighters who will be strapping on the gloves, their team, and the boxing organization agree on a weight, it is the couch potato boxing fan, who's only fighting will involve who gets the last beer or chip, throws a fit.

If both fighters agree catchweights are ok, but they won't mean as much to real fans. I nearly voted for 'YES but not in world title fights' but then I remembered the sanctioning bodies are largely pointless and I have no respect for them anyway.

You're entitled to your opinion. It just means very little since catchweights have always been around since the existence of pro boxing. Catchweight fights in boxing are the past, present, and the future. Deal with it. It's here to stay.

Disagree with catchweights altogether for 1 simple reason: there are more than enough divisions in boxing as it is! I mean with divisions like Cruiserweight, LWW, Super Batum etc, fighters can move up and down at will by putting on only a few extra pounds so there really is no need for them. IMO they bring nothing to boxing.

This isn't a reflection on those who choose to fight at Catchweights at all. I just dont see the point!

i agree with this, with the manny situation, i guess the problem that i have is that his team is determining these catchweight fights to give him an advantage, and with him being the monster draw that he is the other fighters really dont have a choice, unless they want to turn down their biggest payday

I just have a problem with catchweights when they invovle a Title. Like in the case with Pac vs Cotto. Cotto won his WW Title weighing in at 147 but against Pac he had to be at 145. I agreed with Cotto not wanting to put his belt on the line, when first informed about this catchweight. He won it at 147 so why should he defend it having to weigh-in at 145.

It's like Freddy Roach uses weight to debilitate Pac's opponents with these catchweights. Like I said catchweights are cool and all, but not when they involve a Title. Just my opinion.

like i said in the other thread, i'd rather have the fights made then not at all.

i'd be happy watching floyd vs pacquiao at 146.23 as long as it happened.
