Pac: Hey Mosley I'll fight you but let's fight at 143 Mosley: Ok cool Pac: Wait you're too good nevermind, I'll wait a few years :rofl :rofl
To be fair, I am a Pacfan but he has been guilty of this CW thing for a while. I think he could have fought Marg at 154 and still have won fairly easily if he didn't get his arm trapped in the ropes.
Pac had won 6 divisional belt before asking for his 1st CW. Without being given one maybe he doesn't go up and trounce all those huge guys he would have been a massive underdog to before moving up. Show me one fighter that went 6 divisions before asking for his 1st CW. Pac also imposed a CW on an opponent twice, same as JMM for example. Strange how only 1 is disparaged for it non stop. Similarly strange how there's not thousands of threads about the following title CWs, for example: Mares Morel PWill Sergio 2 Ortiz Berto Canelo Hatton, criticized for being a **** fight, but not catchweight Canelo didnt even honor Kessler Green
I have no problem, boxers know there own limits. Why sign a contract to weaken your chances of winning. It's usually only a pound or 2 extra Neway.
Isn't that even make catchweight even not that big of a deal? With the expansion of the weight divisions, going up or down is not even dramatic. Not to mention weigh-in happens a full day before a fight. With proper technique you often rehydrate back to your normal fighting weight. As long as both agree, I don't see the big deal. I mean many fights would not happen without catchweight. Pac gets shitted on because he was not suppose to win and losing fans hates being the losing fan- so find a way to hate. There have been dozens of catchweight fights before Pac and more will come from other fights including ATG. PBF, JMM, Canelo, etc all have used it. More will happen.
you posted a dialogue between shane and pac. did shane talk directly to pac about making the fight???
